Some twenty years ago, we called ourselves GBR Helicopters because we’re passionate about everything to do with the Great Barrier Reef and flying our fleet of helicopters to world class destinations, right on our doorstep here in Far North Queensland.

In that time we’ve shared the reef, the rainforest and our local knowledge with thousands of customers who’ve enjoyed our continued commitment to going ‘above and beyond’ making sure that each and every flight is an experience to remember…

Beyond tourism and leisure activities, there’s a wealth of local knowledge and experience that we use in GBR commercial operations servicing all of FNQ and our dedicated Flight Training Centre based in the Cairns hinterland township of Mareeba, where there’s 300 perfect flying days every year. Our film and television work has been seen by millions of viewers, with a list of high profile productions that would make an impressive movie credit list in it’s own right.

We’ve gathered a talented and dedicated team that bring years of experience to the company and most importantly to our customers and clients alike. With a large modern fleet, as you’d expect we have a number of dedicated facilities in key locations. Our headquarters are situated at Cairns Airport – General Aviation, we also have centrally located heliports in Cairns and Port Douglas, flight training at Mareeba and we have remote operations in Horn Island and the Torres Straits.
